Accessible thresholds in new buildings: guidance for house builders and designers

Department of Communities and Local Government

Publication date: 1999
Ranking: useful

The aim of the guide is to suggest solutions that will make the thresholds of dwellings more accessible to wheelchair users and people with limited mobility, whilst minimising the risk of water entering the building; and to help designers achieve solutions that do not conflict with other aspects of the Building Regulations. The guidelines were developed by an industry working party, representing the interests of house builders, manufacturers, designers and disabled people.
