The Housing LIN has published a selection of resources that consider in detail the built environment and the physical design criteria that can meet the housing needs and lifestyle choices of older people.

In this thought provoking viewpoint, they take a wider look at designing for inclusion and how by focussing on clever, accessible design, this can accommodate the needs and aspirations of older people.

In short, what is required is for designers to focus on the ageing population but not to produce products solely for older people.
