The Design of Streets with Older People in Mind is a 13 part toolkit; each part addressing a different environmental feature of streets and neighbourhoods. It is based on research undertaken by the SURFACE Inclusive Design Research Centre at the University of Salford during both phases of Inclusive Design for Getting Outdoors (I’DGO), latterly in partnership with the Centre for Health Sciences Research. 12 parts of the toolkit were published in 2007 and a further document was published in 2012.
