The document contains principles of good practice based on the duty to make reasonable adjustments and provide equal standards of service in accordance with what at that time was the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. The Act has now been superceded by the Equality Act 2010. whilst the guidance is still relevant BSi state it will be shortly withdrawn.

It uses the good practice originally developed by marketing leaders within the hotel industry and VisitBritain’s National Accessible Scheme (NAS).
