Induction loops or infra-red hearing systems are often put together in everyday terms and simply known as “induction loops”.

A loop system is a piece of specialist amplification equipment that helps hearing impaired people to hear sounds more clearly if they a hearing aid or “loop listener.” It transmits sound directly to the person’s ear.

They can be fixed and part of a building’s fabric or portable. Either way they are an important tool for a hearing impaired person to be able to communicate.
