Publication date: 2006, updated 2014
Ranking: useful

Prepared originally by the former Disability Rights Commission, this comprehensive document sets out the specification requirements that need to be addressed to ensure websites are genuinely inclusive. It sets out testing methodologies, the standards to attain and the importance of involving disabled people directly in the design and running of any web application. It has a list of key questions to assist with the preparation of specifications and choosing website evaluation assessors.

It does not cover the implications arising from more recent platforms.

Note the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) in use at the time of publication was version 1.0.
