Breaking Point: the crisis in accessible housing and adaptations

Publication date: 2016
Ranking: useful

Accessible housing and adaptations are vital in enabling disabled people and their families to have the same quality of life and independence as any other household. This report highlights a range of issues  with an emphasis on how it affects people with muscle-wasting conditions.

The research by Muscular Dystrophy UK involved a survey of people affected by muscle-wasting conditions, carried out between July and September 2015, and Freedom of Information requests to local councils. It highlights a range of issues which they state are having “… a devastating effect on people’s lives.”
