“Project for Public Spaces (PPS) is a nonprofit planning, design and educational organization dedicated to helping people create and sustain public spaces that build stronger communities.”

It was founded in 1975 and produces research and discussion papers on public spaces from transport links to markets, waterfronts and green open space.

This document highlights the need for accessibility and involvement of people in the process to help shape and build the character of an area.
