This page on the Government’s website provides a summary of key reports and sets out DPTAC’s position.

It provides some general observations and DPTAC’s comments as an organisation representing disabled people.

They make 12 recommendations including requiring central government to take a lead role in shared space and not leaving it to local authorities along with highlighting the need for further research and a revised formal advice note.

Most significantly they recommend disabled people should be:

“…fully involved in their conception, planning, design, implementation and evaluation.”
