Designing for Diversitywoman holding up transparent plan

Welcome to the home of physical access design guidance.

Around the UK this month Deaf Awareness Week is being celebrated to showcase the services available to Deaf and hearing people. In addition, some of the major communication and access barriers they face are being highlighted.

Here in North Somerset all next week (14th – 18th May), we’re offering British Sign Language, (BSL) and lip-reading taster sessions. BSL is a must for all front facing services anywhere. They’ll also be signed story-time sessions in schools and a Communication Cafe day (17th) when everyone can meet up and just enjoy cake, coffee and a chat!

Use our Feedback information to find out more.
