Our website provides design guidance to meet the needs of a range of equality groups with the aim of providing a truly inclusive built environment.

It promotes consultation with users of buildings, spaces and transport networks. We encourage designers and their clients to respond with designs that use technical guidance to meet their genuine needs, not to impose a way of living, working or using spaces and buildings.

The site offers a range of technical guidance and primarily UK government policy. It also includes research papers and comment from design professionals and importantly, the people using these their designs.

Download our guide on how to design for the diverse communities that we all live in.

We’d love to hear from you think about the site, any of the content or suggestions for new posts.
